A Trumpet is a very proud instrument! The colorful sound, the high register, the virtuosity and loudness: it always wants to be heard!

I disliked this proudness, thought of this as too macho. No - I didn't need that. I was cool and mellow. Didn't need a red Ferrari. I disliked it so much that I even though I chose the wrong instrument! I knew for sure that I wanted to be a musician, but then what other instrument could I choose?

And then I simply didn't find an alternative!

It took me long to admit:
I loved the trumpet: loud, fast, high, rich colours, the fullness of sound.
HOT!

And that is why I started practising so hard! For so many years and still I practise, almost obsessively, to get it down! A bit challenge for my little person that tried to ignore the macho trumpeter in me. It didn't come easily.

But now I have it: the pieces on this CD show off! They are colorful, loud, virtuosic, crazy, trance-inducing, hysterical. And thanks to Kagel we can also laugh about it!
